Jay Tyler is a freelance Unscripted Casting and Talent Producer with over a decade of experience.

Jay began his journey in the world of unscripted casting with reality television pioneer Bunim/Murray Productions. While at Bunim/Murray, he was a part of the casting teams for the archetypal series The Real World, The Bad Girls Club, Best Ink, and the critically-acclaimed Project Runway. In 2017, Project Runway would become one of the first series to be Emmy-nominated for Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program. 

Over the years, Jay has worked on MTV’s Are You The one?, YouTube’s Best.Cover.Ever, Netflix’s The Final Table, VH1’s Dating Naked, HBO’s documentary Valentine Road, Amazon Prime’s Making the Cut, HBOMax’s Legendary, short-lived daytime lifestyle series Disney-ABC’s FABLife, VH1’s Rupaul’s Drag Race, development projects for content studio Critical Content and  Vice TV formerly known as Viceland. 

As of late, Jay has aided in multiple casting efforts for the renowned and accomplished production company, Magical Elves, a leading producer of non-fiction content. These efforts included the Emmy award-winning series Top Chef, subsequent spin-off Top Chef Family Style, and five-time Emmy-nominated series Nailed It! and more.

Jay is passionate about discovering unique voices and diverse talent to showcase in unscripted programming. He loves championing those with captivating, genuine, and heartfelt stories when approaching casting.
